The original code of ethics is published in Lithuanian. Below is a plain-English summary of the standards every member agrees to follow.

1

General provisions

The code reflects best-practice standards that SEO professionals voluntarily agree to follow, built on guidelines published by search engines. Only members familiar with this code appear in the association's member list.

2

Member values

Members act with transparency, honesty, professionalism and respect, and follow a culture of collaboration where everyone can participate as an equal.

3

Professional ethics

Members don't make unrealistic promises about ranking timelines, and never knowingly use tactics that could get a client's site penalized or de-indexed. If "black hat" tactics are ever used to gain an edge over competitors, the client must be informed. Members report on the SEO work performed, focus on genuinely useful and trustworthy content — not rankings alone — take a holistic approach (technical, on-page, content, UX, security), protect client confidentiality, keep their own skills current, and represent their experience and qualifications honestly.

4

Competition

Members collaborate with and support one another where it doesn't conflict with client interests, act ethically, and don't work simultaneously with directly competing clients (competing for the same keywords) without informing them first.

5

Responsibility

Members agree to follow this code voluntarily. The association does not mediate legal disputes between a member and their client. A member who breaches the code may be warned by the board, and repeated breaches can lead to removal from the association.

6

Final provisions

This code takes effect once approved at the general meeting, and may be amended by the board as needed; members are notified of changes by email.
